About Us

Straightline Publishing is a 100% Namibian Educational company. We specialise in publishing, marketing and distribution of senior Mathematics educational books in Namibia. Because we specialise only in mathematics, we are able to channel all our energy and focus in creating and producing textbooks that are of the highest standards, and that are specially created in conjunction with the syllabi of the Ministry of Education of Namibia. Although Straightline Publishing was only established in 2012, the build-up to the establishment of the company already started in the late 90’s.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Karen D’Emiljo, a mathematics teacher, started teaching in 1992, and always had a passion for helping learners improve their mathematics abilities and performance. Believing that mathematics could be conquered by any learner, she began researching why most learners tend to struggle to understand mathematics. By teaching at a government school as well as providing extra classes to private school learners, she had contact with a very large group of students with different learning abilities. In the late 90’s, she started creating material to help learners to improve their mathematics capabilities. She published her first textbook “y=mx+c to success” Senior Secondary Mathematics, in 2002.
